From install to first answer in two minutes.
Everything you need to set up SnapAI, use it day to day, and fix the handful of things that can go wrong.
(a) — Installation

Open the SnapAI listing on the Chrome Web Store and choose Add to Chrome.

Confirm the permission prompt — storage, active tab, scripting and clipboard.

Pin SnapAI to your toolbar from the puzzle-piece menu so it's one click away.
(b) — API key setup

Create a Google Generative Language API key in Google AI Studio.

Right-click the SnapAI icon and open Options.

Paste your key, pick a Gemini model, and save. The key stays on your device.
(c) — Daily use

Click the SnapAI icon on any page.

Choose Capture page to send the readable content, or Snap region to drag a selection.

Type a question, or use the saved default prompt.

Read the answer in the panel, then copy it out if you need it elsewhere.
Supported models
SnapAI v1.0.0 talks to Google Gemini through the Generative Language API. Additional services can be pointed at from the options page as they're configured.
(d) — Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I click the icon+
Chrome blocks extensions on internal pages like chrome:// and the Web Store itself. Try again on a normal http or https page, or reload the tab after installing.
"Invalid API key" or a 403 response+
Re-copy the key from Google AI Studio, make sure the Generative Language API is enabled for that project, and save again in Options.
The region snap looks cut off+
Captures cover the visible viewport. Scroll so the whole area is on screen, or use Capture page for long content.
Responses are slow or rate limited+
Free API tiers throttle requests. Wait a moment and retry, or switch to a faster model in Options.
